In Japan, some Bonsai masters provide special training for gifted students in an apprentice program. The student is given room, board and experience on the premises of the master’s collection in exchange for help with the maintenance of an often large collection of Bonsai. Italian painters, sculptors and artisans have been taught this way since the Renaissance. This tradition, embedded in the arts is now offered by Warren Hill at Tree-Haven. Here are some photos of Warren and some of his students maintaining his master collection at Tree-Haven.
